Leased Line ConnectivityConnecting your business to the Internet via leased line has become an invaluable business tool. When the highest reliability is essential, your best business advantage is IST. IST partners with the best, integrators, on-site consultants and various providers of services and equipment. There are a variety of high speed connectivity options, based on the size of your data transmission needs, that are ideal for your organization. All customers of IST will be routed to the 45Mbps fiber optic backbone of ICI/Digex, an upper tier national ISP, providing a reliable high speed connection to the heart of the Internet. Dedicated Point-to-Point: 1.544 MbProvides a dedicated physical line directly from site to Internet. Provides constant rate of transmission around-the-clock. Employed in situations where the client requires heavy data transfer for extended periods of time. Pricing is determined by the mileage charge from the IST POP to the customer location. Dedicated Point-to-Point: 56kA dedicated line at 56k speed that functions exactly like the 1.544 Mbs line. Frame Relay: T1Frame relay provides a cost-effective solution in situations where the client has intermittent high bandwidth requirements. A constant connection is maintained from the client site to a frame circuit at the telephone company. The size of the dedicated bandwidth is known as the Committed Information Rate (or CIR) and is available at speeds of 128k, 256k, 512k or 768k. Data sent from the client site is switched at the circuit to a complimentary connection maintained by the Internet Service Provider, who then routes the data to the Internet. When bandwidth requirements exceed the CIR, the connection bursts up to full T1 to accommodate the increased need. This allows multiple connections to be made simultaneously over a single physical access line and is commonly employed in situations where multiple workstations require Internet access. An existing frame relay connection is scalable; if a higher CIR is required the circuit is configured at telephone company without changes to the existing line. Frame Relay: 56kOperates under the same principle as a T1 frame relay, bursting up to 64k. Typical CIR is 32k. Used for small business in cases where data records need to be synchronized between two locations and for 2-3 simultaneous internet connections.
